Terms of Service

Last updated · 15 August 2026

These terms govern the One Shot at Love app, signed-in browser experience, public website, waitlist, and related services. The service combines fictional AI-driven Campaign scenes with worldwide, near-first matching and conversation between real adults.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account, using the service, or joining the waitlist, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy and Safety Charter. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use One Shot at Love for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18, legally able to enter this agreement, and permitted to use the service where you live. You must provide an accurate date of birth and account information, use your own account, and keep access to it secure. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may disable it immediately and take appropriate safety steps. An unambiguous first-person statement that you are under 18 automatically pauses the account for human review; contact safety@oneshotatlove.com if that conclusion is mistaken.

What the service does

Campaign is a single-player experience with fictional AI-driven characters. Campaign characters are not real people, available matches, employees, or substitutes for professional advice.

Matchmaking uses one worldwide draw and prefers compatible people who are closer when possible. A player may choose a reciprocal local-only boundary instead. A roll opts that player into the applicable draw; it does not guarantee a match, a nearby match, a reply, compatibility, safety, or a particular outcome. Sparse participation, private boundaries, blocks, and prior pairings can leave a player unmatched.

Joining the waitlist only registers interest. It is not an account, reservation, or promise of access. We may change availability, features, or launch timing.

Real people and personal safety

Real-player accounts and profile claims are not background checks or guarantees of identity, intent, location, or conduct. You decide whether and how to communicate or meet. Use caution, keep early conversations in the app, meet first in a public place, control your own travel, and tell someone you trust. One Shot at Love is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services when anyone is in immediate danger.

The Charter

You may not use the service to:

Messages, moderation, reports, and blocks

We use deterministic and AI-assisted systems to screen some content, and authorized people may review reports and relevant conversation context. High-confidence content can be stopped before delivery; delivered content may be flagged later. Automated systems can be wrong and do not replace player judgment. A clear first-person under-18 admission can also pause the sender's account for review. A third-party underage report does not automatically suspend an account. You can report and permanently block a match from the app.

We may remove or restrict content, warn or suspend an account, preserve evidence, cooperate with lawful requests, or take other proportionate action to protect players and the service. We aim to review safety reports promptly, but we cannot promise a specific response time or outcome. Repeated or severe violations can result in permanent removal.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give One Shot at Love a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, display, format, and moderate that content only as needed to operate, secure, and provide the service and to comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for the limited safety, legal, and backup retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Do not submit content you lack the right to share. Messages and meeting plans are visible to the matched recipient, and reported content may be visible to an authorized safety operator.

AI-generated content

The DM and Campaign characters are AI systems, not people. Generated text can be incomplete, inaccurate, repetitive, biased, or unexpected. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, mental-health, emergency, or other professional advice. Do not submit secrets or highly sensitive information that the feature does not need. You remain responsible for how you use or share generated content.

Plans and off-service activity

Meeting plans, links, venues, transportation, purchases, and interactions outside One Shot at Love are arranged between users or provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for a venue, another user, or a third-party service. A confirmed plan is not a guarantee that anyone will attend.

Accounts, suspension, and deletion

You can delete your account in the app’s Codex. Deletion disables access immediately and schedules app data for permanent deletion within 30 days, subject to limited safety, legal, security-log, and backup retention. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect someone, address risk, or comply with law.

Paid features

No live subscription or checkout is offered in the current release. If paid features are introduced, the price, billing period, included service, renewal terms, cancellation path, and any usage boundary will be shown before purchase, together with any additional terms required by the app store or payment provider.

Our service and intellectual property

One Shot at Love, its software, writing, artwork, characters, design, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service as intended. They do not transfer ownership or permit commercial reuse, copying, or distribution of our service.

Feedback

If you choose to send product feedback, you allow us to use the ideas and suggestions without payment or obligation. This does not transfer ownership of your private account or conversation content.

Service changes and availability

We may add, remove, pause, or change features and may limit access for maintenance, safety, security, law, or capacity. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, a minimum number of users, a match, or continued support for every device or region.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or a particular social or relationship outcome. We do not warrant that the service, AI output, other users, or off-service interactions will be accurate, safe, available, or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so they may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Shot at Love and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits non-waivable consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the revised version and update the date above; when a change materially affects existing users, we will provide reasonable notice in the service or by email where required. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using and delete your account.

General

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of operating or reorganizing the service, subject to applicable law. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Safety Charter are the agreement between you and One Shot at Love about the service.
